How reviews are collected, moderated and published — and what we will and won't do.
Who can submit a review?
BuySideReview is open to anyone who works on the buy side of media — media buyers, planners, programmatic traders, agency directors, and in-house marketing teams. We ask reviewers to confirm that their review reflects genuine professional experience with the platform they are reviewing.
How are reviews moderated?
Every review submitted via our form is reviewed manually by the BuySideReview team before it is published. We check that the review appears to reflect genuine experience, that it does not contain personal information, and that it does not make claims that read as false statements of fact rather than opinion. We may edit reviews lightly for clarity or to remove identifying information, but we do not alter scores or change the substance of a reviewer's opinion.
What we will not publish:
We will not publish reviews that contain personal attacks on individuals, that include confidential or commercially sensitive information, that make specific false factual claims, that appear to have been submitted by a vendor about their own platform or a competitor, or that contain discriminatory or offensive language.
Do vendors pay to influence their reviews?
No. Vendors cannot pay to have reviews removed, altered, suppressed or improved. Our review scores and editorial content are entirely independent of any commercial relationship.
Sponsored and paid placements
BuySideReview may in future offer paid products such as verified vendor profiles or featured placements. Any such placement will always be clearly labelled as sponsored or paid. Paid placements have no influence on a platform's review scores or the content of buyer reviews.
Can a platform be removed from the site?
We list platforms that are relevant to media buyers. We reserve the right to remove a platform from the site at our discretion, but we will not remove a platform solely because they have received negative reviews.
Disputing a review
If you are a vendor and believe a review about your platform contains a false statement of fact, you can contact us at james@buysidereview.com with the platform name, the approximate date of the review and the specific claim you believe to be false. We will investigate and respond within 14 days. We will not remove reviews simply because a vendor disagrees with the opinion expressed.
Correcting errors
If you believe a platform description on our site contains a factual error, please email james@buysidereview.com and we will review and correct it promptly.

BuySideReview is a personal project run by an individual based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've tried to write it in plain English.

What data do we collect?
We collect data in two ways:
When you submit a review — we collect your email address, your job role (buyer type), the scores and written review you submit, and the platform you're reviewing. Your email address is never published on the site and is only used to verify that reviews are genuine and to contact you if we have a question about your submission.
When you get in touch — we collect your name, email address, and the message you send. This is used solely to respond to your enquiry.
Where is your data stored?
Submissions are collected via Tally (tally.so) and stored in Airtable. Both are reputable third-party services with their own privacy policies and GDPR compliance. We do not store any personal data on our own servers.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep review submissions for as long as the site is active. Contact form submissions are kept for as long as needed to resolve your enquiry. You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing james@buysidereview.com.
Do we use cookies or tracking?
No. BuySideReview does not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising pixels, or any other tracking technology. We have no way of identifying individual visitors to the site.
Do we share your data with anyone?
No. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties, other than the storage services mentioned above (Tally and Airtable) which are necessary to operate the site.
What are your rights?
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and object to how we use it. To exercise any of these rights, email james@buysidereview.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
Disputing or removing a review you submitted
If you submitted a review and would like it removed or amended, email james@buysidereview.com with the platform name, the approximate date of submission and the scores you gave. Since reviews are submitted anonymously we use these details to locate your record. We will action your request within 14 days.

If you represent a platform listed on BuySideReview and believe a review contains a false statement of fact, please see our Editorial Policy for details of our dispute process.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. We recommend checking back occasionally.
